Credit policy

How a decision is reached, what drives the amount, and how declines are handled.

01

The order of assessment

A free policy pre-filter runs first: age, serviceable PIN code, income floor, geolocation consistency and duplicate checks. Only applications that pass it proceed to paid verification and a credit bureau enquiry — so a policy decline costs you nothing and leaves your credit score untouched.

02

What determines the offer

Verified income from bank credits or payslips, your existing obligations, your credit bureau report and repayment history, the stability of your employment or business, and whether a single repayment fits your cash flow.

03

Sizing to capacity

Offers are capped by assessed repayment capacity, not by what an applicant asks for or would accept. Where capacity is insufficient we reduce the amount or decline, and we do not offer a top-up to close a sale.

04

Manual review

Applications with document or data anomalies are referred to an underwriter for review within 48 hours rather than rejected automatically, because genuine documents can trip automated checks.

05

Reasons and cool-off

Every decline carries a specific reason code and a stated cool-off period before reapplying. The reason is shown to you in plain language, not as a code.

06

Model governance

Decision inputs are retained so any decision can be replayed and audited. Rules are versioned, and changes are reviewed before deployment.

07

Why was my application declined?

Because the assessment did not show the capacity to repay this amount on this date. You are given the reason rather than a bare rejection, and a cool-off period before you can reapply, so that reapplying is worth doing only once something has actually changed.

08

Does checking my eligibility affect my credit score?

No. The quick check on this site is a pre-filter run against the criteria on this page. It is not a credit check, it costs nothing, and it leaves no record with any bureau.
